ColumbiaDoctors, the Faculty Practice Organization of Columbia University Medical Center, manages 18 clinical departments, 230 specialties, and over 2,200 providers. Affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Health System, it integrates cutting-edge research and teaching with patient care, upholding its mission as the first U.S. teaching hospital and setting high standards for healthcare delivery.
ColumbiaDoctors aimed to extend cost-effective support across additional departments by strategic centralization of staffing. However, their managers struggled to balance staffing with fluctuating patient volumes and lacked a streamlined way to communicate resulting in significant time spent on scheduling. Additionally, leadership lacked a comprehensive, global view of staff across locations, making it difficult to resource plan for their growth objectives.
ColumbiaDoctors partnered with us to achieve several objectives including to: increase efficiency and reduce expenditures for staffing. Improve transparency and visibility of current and ongoing staffing practices. Produce data to support current and future resourcing decisions.
